Luxurious Manicure and Pedicures

Firstly, we use all disposable pedicure liners and disposable packs for every treatment and disinfect the bowls after every use. This is to ensure a clean, safe and hygienic environment.

Our tools are sterilised and cleaned in barbicide disinfectant solution which is a EPA-registered formulated with quaternary ammonium compounds and isopropyl alcohol. This kills bacteria, viruses and any fungi. After the Global Covid-19 pandemic we have had, we see this as becoming more important than ever.

What is a Manicure?

The manicure is the cuticle works where your nails will be cut, filed, shaped and soaked in a manicure bowl to soften the skin around the nails.. your “cuticles”. Once softens, a nail tool is used to push back your cuticles and a cuticle cutter is used to neaten and clean them up in preparation for the polish.

What is the difference between gel polishes and regular polishes?

Gel are polishes which are cured under UV light lamps, which tends to come in opaque bottles to prevent sunlight from thickening the polish. They have a high shine gloss and are longer lasting than regular polish. The shine usually last up to 21 days with the correct maintenance and they have no fumes like the artificial acrylic full sets.

Regular polishes do not need to be cured under UV lamps and takes longer to dry completely – sometimes up to one hour for darker or powder block colours which require a third coat for a more opaque finish. Although they look great and shiny once you walk out of the salon, in order to keep them maintained, you will need to take care when doing works with your hands.

Why go for gel polish instead of regular polish?

Your natural nails have oils usually transferred from your fingertips and when using regular polish they tend to chip quicker. Some people may have more oily nails than others which affect how long our gel polish last. However, if your nails are dry and brittle it may break more easily. You can look after your hands and nails by keeping it moisturised and applying a nourishing nail oil occasionally.

We are constantly washing our hands and once exposed with water, your nail polish softens and chips easier. It is important to wear gloves when washing dishes, cleaning and gardening to protect your nails and hands. Also if are typing on the keyboard a lot, it can also chip quicker on the tips of your nails.
